Genealogy Center Now Open

Do you really know who your family is? Television shows like 'Finding Your Roots' and 'Who Do You Think You Are?' have turned researching family history into a popular hobby. Now you can discover your roots at the Gates Public Library's brand new Genealogy Center! The Genealogy Center offers free access to Ancestry, Family Tree Maker, and hundreds of books on local history and genealogical research. To kick off the grand opening of the Genealogy Center, the Gates Public Library is hosting a free class on how to use the popular family history website,, on Thursday, March 24th at 2:00 PM. Call 247-6446 to register or register online. The Genealogy Center was funded in part by financial support secured by State Senator Joseph Robach, and by donations made in memory of Richard Robillard. The Genealogy Center is located on the second floor of the library and is open during normal operating hours.

Wireless Printing Now Available

Don't have a printer? No problem! Thanks to financial support from State Senator Joseph Robach, you can upload documents, files, and photos through our website and pickup the printed copies at the Gates Public Library. Our wireless printing system does not require any special software or drivers. You can even submit prints from home. Click here for more details! If you have a smartphone or tablet, you can upload print jobs using the iOS or Android app. Print jobs will only be available the day they are submitted, and cost $0.15 per page for black and white, or $1.00 per page for color.
