Kids' Catalog
The Kids Catalog Type Search allows the user to search the CARL catalog
by author, title or subject. The user is provided with a box in which to
type the word(s) to search, and then only has to click on the appropriate
search type (author, title or subject) to execute the search. Spelling and
punctuation are important when using this searching method.
Explore Search
The Explore Search in the Kids' Catalog gives the user
a variety of descriptive icons representing subject areas within the library.
This searching method is especially effective for children who are not yet
able to read since the user does not have to know how to type, spell, or
even recognize letters. The Explore search allows users to find titles
in a variety of subject areas such as...
- Famous People
- History
- Countries
- Science
- Machines
- Nature
- Animals
- Human Body
- Kids Problems
- Sports & Games

Find It! Search
The Find It! search in the Kids Catalog allows the user to search
subjects, authors and series through a screen full of alphabet blocks. The
user clicks on Find It! from the main Kids Catalog screen, then chooses the
Subjects, Authors or Series block, then chooses the first letter of
the desired subject, author, or series. A list of all the matches for that
letter will then appear from which the user may select titles.
