Computer Services for Children
Public Access Computers
Computer
products available for children include CD-ROM products as well as other
equipment and software.
The
library's public access
computers are available for use by the public. Children ages 7 and older
may use the computer unaccompanied once they and a parent have registered
with the library. You may call ahead to arrange for a registration or orientation.
Registration is required before you can use the computer, and the process
consists of reading over our use rules and taking a short quiz to let us
know that you understand your responsibilities and that you know how to use
the computer. Library staff are not available to help you with your
computer work or to answer computer-related questions.
The
Kids' Catalog is a picture-based method of using the CARL online catalog
to search for library materials. The Kids Catalog offers three types of searching: Type
Search, Explore, and Find It!. It also offers lists of
Best Stories and current events in the Monroe County Libraries. |
