Books on Cassette & Compact Disc

Casettes

Gates Public Library has a variety of books on cassette, such as: best sellers, mysteries, classics, and self-help.

Most of our titles are unabridged, and circulate for 3 weeks, renewable. For adult and young adult books on cassette, 5 titles per card may be checked out and the overdue fine is 25¢ per day, $5.00 maximum.

Available adult and young adult titles are on white laminate cards. These are located on a table across from our CD collection.

Our multi-part BOC must circulate together and be returned at the same time.

The children’s titles circulate for 3 weeks, renewable, 3 titles per card and the fine rate is 25¢ per day, $3.00 maximum. Children’s cassettes that come with a book in a nylon bag are non-renewable.

Books on CD

Check out our books-on-compact disc collection featuring unabridged fiction and non-fiction titles.

Look for Books-on-CD on the same table as the Books-on-Cassette. Available titles and information are arranged alphabetically by author or by call number on large green cards in the box marked “Books-on-Compact Disc”.

BOCD TIPS

1. Remember where you left off… unlike cassettes, CDs automatically restart to the first track after being ejected.

2. CDs scratch easily, which can cause skipping. When not in your player, please keep CDs in their vinyl pouches.

3. Add ‘cd’ to your search when looking for titles in the online catalog.
