Policies

Established an Americans with Disabilities Act Grievance Policy, approved October 21, 1992.

The Gates Public Library Americans with Disabilities Act Advisory Committee was formed in the summer of 1992 to examine methods of bringing the library into compliance with the law. The committee's final report was accepted by the Library Board on 9/15/93. The Committee meets on a regular basis.

Accessibility To and In the Library

In Addition....

  • Drive-up Window! Call in advance to reserve materials. Then pick them up at the drive-up window. Monday through Friday, 3:15 - 8:45 pm. Drop off materials at any time.
  • OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)  Wheelchair accessible seating at the library.  You can check out your library account at 428-4455.
  • Internet Access.  You can access the web at www.libraryweb.org  Training classes for OPAC and the Internet are held periodically.
  • Service to Shut-Ins.  A service offered by Gates Public Library and the Friends of Gates Public Library to bring library materials to Gates residents who cannot get to the library.  Call the library (247-6446) for a form.
