Some electronic resources are available on your home computer, courtesy of Monroe County Library System.

The rest are available on the computers at the Gates Public Library!

The first group are reached by going to www.libraryweb.org and clicking on the “Magazines and Databases” link on the left-hand side of the page.

Unless otherwise noted, the rest of the databases listed are only available in the Gates Public Library.
  • ReferenceUSA includes directories of business and residential addresses, and is great for market research!
  • LitFinder includes Poemfinder, Storyfinder, and Essayfinder are all rich literature resources.
  • Novelist will help you find good fiction books similar to books you have already enjoyed.
  • SIRS provides a wide variety of full-text articles and graphics on current events.
  • Grolier’s Online includes The New Book of Knowledge for children; Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia for all ages; and Encyclopedia Americana for adults.
  • Town of Gates Meeting Minutes is a unique, locally-produced database of minutes from meetings dated 1948-1999.
