Junior Friends’ Achievements 2006

January 2006:  We made a “Unity” bulletin board.  Fish shapes were used for the display.

February 2006:  Paper heart baskets were made and spring-themed door hangers were made.  All of these projects were then brought to the Westgate Nursing home for the residents there.

March 2006:  Junior Friends washed the children’s board books.  Quite a lot of dirt was scrubbed off.

April 2006:  Went to Seabury Woods and helped the residents there play BINGO.  A great time was had by all who participated in this community event.

May 2006:  Decorated the children’s bulletin board with a patriotic theme.

June 2006:  Junior Friends prepared games for the End of the Summer Reading Party.  These games will be played in August with the children who participated in the summer reading program.

July 2006:  The entire meeting was spent creating the sponge-toss game for the “End of the Summer Reading Party” It turned out great!  Its theme was a pirate and a treasure chest.

August 2006:  Summer party games were finished off and then date due cards were sorted and filed away.

September 2006:  Created a new bulletin board for the children’s area.  The theme was “Back to School”.

October 2006:  We made cinnamon cookie ornaments and snowmen in preparation for the Tree Lighting Ceremony in December.

November 2006:  Junior Friends continued to make ornaments for the tree lighting ceremony.  Salt dough ornaments were made.

December 2006:  We put the finishing touches onto our ornaments and later in the meeting we cut and counted Campbell soup labels.  Over 600 were cut and counted!
