Junior Friends’ Achievements 2005

January 2005:  All active members of the Junior Friends group attended the meeting today.  Thanks to my helper, Lynn Tocco, we created a beautiful bulletin board for the children’s area.  We sponge-painted snowmen on blue paper and made it look like they were headed to a library.  Sticks and felt were used on the snowmen to give them a 3-D look.

February 2005 Junior Friends decorated new blown-out eggs for the “Egg Tree” that is in the children’s area.  After they finished that they washed a few board books.

March 2005: 18 helpers today!  Had the Junior Friends pull children’s Easter books for the display area.  After that we had a great time (and productive time) sorting and filing date due cards.

April 2005:  Sorted and filed date due cards.

May 2005:  Created “Spring into Reading” bulletin board for the children’s area.

June 2005 Only six Junior Friends in attendance (my oversight, I forgot to send out meeting reminders).  Those that were in attendance, created 4th of July cards that I brought to the Westgate Nursing Home.

July 2005 Washed board books

August 2005:  Created paper chains and other decorations and helped out at the Summer Reading Sock Hop Party

September 2005 Created “Nuts about Reading” display (bulletin board) for the children’s area.

October 2005 Junior Friends made ornaments for the Town Hall Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.  We made pinecone owls, puzzle piece wreaths and pinecone trio ornaments.

November 2005:  Junior Friends made environmentally friendly ornaments for the Town Hall’s outside tree.  They will be put on the tree at the tree lighting ceremony.

December 2005:  Elections for new officers.  Results are as follows:  Matt M. and Charlene T. are co-presidents, Beth L. is secretary and Keyonna D. is phone person.
