The Junior Friends of the Gates Public Library are a group of volunteers, ages 9-16, who help the library and the community in many different ways. As part of the larger Friends of the Gates Public Library, the Junior Friends often organize fundraising activities such as car washes and bake sales. The proceeds from these activities are considered part of the general funds raised by the Friends organization, which are donated to the library annually. The Junior Friends also assist the Friends and library staff with other activities such as book sales, summer reading parties, and bulletin board displays. The Junior Friends meet at the library on the second Tuesday of each month from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Their activities are coordinated by the Young Adult Librarian for the Gates Public Library, with assistance from adult volunteers. So, if you are between the ages of 9 and 16 and want to volunteer some of your time to a worthy organization, call the library and request a membership form today! Junior Friends Achievements:
