Gates Human Services Directory

Introduction

The Gates Human Services Directory has now provided both professionals and the public with a comprehensive, timely source of information on local human services for the past decade. We have attempted to include all public and voluntary organizations which sponsor or operate a continuing program available to the public in the areas of health, education, welfare, housing, recreation and legal services in or near the Town of Gates. Also Rochester/Monroe County Agencies which Directory holders have asked be listed are included in this directory.

Information about many services which are available to Gates residents but are not necessarily located near Gates is contained in the Monroe County Library System's Human Services Directory. Both the Gates Human Services Directory and the MCLS Human Services Directory are available for use at the Gates Public Library and online.

The Gates Human Services Directory was originally developed in 1978 by the Community Directories Project in cooperation with the Gates Public Library's volunteer Advisory Committee of local residents, plus other volunteers from the community. First updated in 1979, yearly updates of this resource will be coordinated by the Editor.  

We hope you will find this a useful guide to the services available in or near Gates. We have attempted to edit and organize the information as carefully as possible so that it will be accurate, clear and readily accessible. It is our intention to publish what we learn about available programs rather than to screen or evaluate them. We welcome your suggestions, comments and corrections. With your help we can improve the Directory and maintain it as a current and vital resource.
