E-mail reference service form

The Gates Public Library's E-Mail Reference Service provides answers to basic information requests or direction to specific reference resources.  E-mail requests will be handled in as timely a manner as possible.  You will receive an immediate response confirming that your information request was received.  You may expect a response to your specific inquiry within 2 business days.

Many requests may be more appropriately handled by using other Gates Public Library resources or services:

• to check the availability or location of an item, search the county online catalog or call the library at (585)247-6446.
• Any library card holder may access online databases
• Those looking for websites focusing on specific topics or information needs should try the Virtual Reference Desk, compiled by Monroe County librarians
• Please feel free to call or visit the Gates Public Library for reference or research assistance.
• For local history or genealogy questions, please contact the
  Local History Division at Central either online or by calling (585) 428-8370
• We cannot answer questions requiring extensive research

e-mail at question@libraryweb.org. Any personal information you provide is confidential and will be used only for statistical purposes.  Preference is given to requests from the Town of Gates.
